About

This comprehensive blended learning course has been designed for all staff working in supported accommodation for young people aged sixteen and seventeen. It provides a deep and practical understanding of the four Ofsted Supported Accommodation Standards: Support, Leadership and Management, Accommodation, and Protection. The course strengthens staff confidence, professionalism and consistency while ensuring services meet regulatory expectations and provide safe, high quality environments for young people. Learners explore how to build positive relationships, deliver individualised support and promote young person voice, choice and independence. The training examines leadership culture across whole teams, highlighting the importance of supervision, communication, accountability and reflective practice. Staff develop a clear understanding of how the physical environment contributes to safety, wellbeing and emotional stability, and learn how to maintain a home that is clean, safe, welcoming and trauma informed. The course also provides detailed guidance on safeguarding, risk assessment, incident reporting, boundaries and early identification of harm. Through case studies, real world scenarios, reflection tasks and advanced assessment, staff gain the knowledge and confidence needed to uphold regulatory standards and respond professionally to complex situations. By the end of the course, learners will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of Ofsted expectations, evidence high quality daily practice and contribute positively to a safe and nurturing environment where young people can thrive.
