About

This comprehensive training course provides staff working in Supported Accommodation with the knowledge, confidence, and practical skills to record, report, and share information lawfully and effectively. Accurate recording is at the heart of safeguarding and professional accountability. Through engaging content, real-world case studies, and reflective learning, this course equips Support Workers, Key Workers, and Managers to meet Ofsted and local authority expectations for high-quality documentation and information handling. Learners will explore the legal frameworks that underpin their responsibilities, including the Children Act 1989 & 2004, Care Planning, Placement and Case Review (England) Regulations 2010, Children and Social Work Act 2017, and the Supported Accommodation (England) Regulations 2023. The course also aligns with Working Together to Safeguard Children (2023), Keeping Children Safe in Education, and the Data Protection Act 2018 (UK GDPR). Practical modules focus on identifying reportable incidents, writing factual and objective records, escalating safeguarding concerns appropriately, maintaining confidentiality, and applying data protection principles. Learners will also reflect on supervision, team learning, and how continuous review improves service quality and compliance. By the end of the course, participants will understand what Ofsted looks for in records, how to demonstrate effective leadership through accurate documentation, and how to ensure that every report contributes to a safer environment for young people.
